Apple will soon refresh its iPad lineup with a new tablet model this year and this could be the iPad Mini 2. There’s also an indication that it will arrive to the market this March, along with the iPad 5. While the iPad Mini 2 will maintains the form factor of the current iPad Mini model, the iPad 5 could be noticeably thinner and lighter.
The Apple iPad Mini 2 will have the same 7.9” IPS display, but with much larger screen resolution at 2048 x 1536. There will also be a much more powerful A6X processor, currently used by the iPad 4. As a response to the rapid technological growth of mobile industry, Apple will adopt shorter update cycles. So, it shouldn’t be to surprising to see two new iOS tablets released in March after the release of previous models in October last year.
It believed that both devices will be focused to bring enhanced display technology, which will bring iPad models closer to iPhone’s Retina Display standard. Apple seems to be interested with Sharp’s IGZO panel, which delivers ultra-thin form factor, better durability and enhanced brightness.
