Asus May Introduce Fonepad at MWC 2013

Asus FonepadEarlier, some believe that the Asus Fonepad is just an uninspired hoax; but the tablet could actually be real. Numerous sources seem to be confirming its existence as well as its rather peculiar branding. Granted, some of these sources may not have perfect record in providing new rumors, but more than occasionally, they get their facts straight.

Unfortunately, this latest rumor doesn’t seem to add up to the previously leaked details. While the rumored specs details are generally the same, the pricing has increased slightly from $265 to around $300. The Fonepad could be equipped with a 7” 1280 x 800 IPS display, 1GB of RAM, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) OS, 16GB of internal storage, 3Mp rear-facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G and more importantly, the Intel Atom Z2420 processor.

With the new Lexington SoC, it’s expected that the tablet can save more juice and have longer battery life. The company may also introduce the Fonepad later this month and there’s also a possibility that the tablet will also have voice-call feature.
