Huawei Ascend Y100 Review

Huawei Ascend Y100The Ascend Y100 could be among the tiniest smartphones you have ever seen in recent years. It will fit into the palm of your hand almost perfectly. As expected from an entry level device, there’s nothing remarkable about the design. But you may appreciate its chrome strip and rounded corners.

While the Ascend Y100 doesn’t feel like a premium device, the matte black finish easily prevents fingerprints. The display could be the weakest link; the 2.8” screen dimension can easily make most tasks a cramped affair. The phone runs the outdated Android 2.3, but while Huawei’s custom UI isn’t the best around, the lock screen looks quite nice.  Images captured by the 3Mp rear-facing camera are poor at best, with a lot of noise and colors are washed out. Nevertheless, considering the $99 contract-free price tag, the Huawei Ascend Y100 certainly still gives us an incredible value.
