Huawei introduced its new newest handset model, the Ascend P7 with its stylish and sleek design. It succeeds the Ascend P6, which was once the thinnest handset in the market. Built of premium materials, the Huawei Ascend P7 still packs a lot of firepower inside its 6.5mm thin chassis. At only 124 grams, the phone is impressively light for its size. Speaking of display size, the Gorilla Glass 3-protected 5-inch screen graces the front side of the phone. It has Full HD 1080p screen resolution, which is a standard feature of any contemporary flagship in Android world.
The Ascend P7 runs Emotion UI 2.3 on top of a modified Android 4.4.2 build. Huawei spices Google’s software up quite a bit with improved notification panel, a bunch of practical widgets, lock screen shortcuts, UI themes and many more. There are other software-based solutions, such as the notifications manager, power-saving mode, integrated antivirus solution, Do Not Disturb mode, contact-blocking feature and others.
The phone is equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 910 processor, a quad-core chip running at 1.8GHz. There’s also the reasonably powerful Mali 450 GPU. Benchmarks indicated that Huawei’s proprietary SoC is as fast as Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, used by the original Samsung Galaxy S5.
