Apple has deployed a minor update of its iOS platform, version 6.0.1 for iPod, iPod Touch and iPhone. Like any minor update, it’s intended to address a number of glitches that annoyed consumers since the official release of iOS 6.0. The new build includes fixes for camera flash the occasionally refuses to go off, horizontal lines displayed on some iOS 6.0 units and issues related to OTA update. iOS 6.0.1 also provides patches for a Passcode Lock bug that occasionally allows users to access details on virtual wallet pass and a bug that affects Exchange meetings.
Another annoying problem was issues when connecting to WiFi networks with encrypted WPA2 and recent evaluation with the new update showed much improved WiFi performance. Users can download the iOS 6.0.1 via iTunes or through the Software Update feature in the device. Obviously, Apple doesn’t stop right there, the company has also released iOS 6.1 beta for app developers to help them achieve compatibility. Rumors said that the 6.1 will include some changes in Safari web browser, improvements in Passbook and better integration of the new Map service to 3rd party apps.
