Leaked documents from a retail store in China seem to indicate that two new iPhone 6 models will be arriving on October 10th in China. Last year, China was among the first country that received the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. Today, consumers in the largest smartphone market in the world, needs to wait for weeks to get the device.
However, the demand is high enough that some people are willing to smuggle the phone for an exorbitant price. There were reports about people who hand off their newly purchased iPhone 6 to some shady-looking characters near the popular New York City Apple Stores.
The leaked document mentions plan for staff training on October 7, released to the release of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. With carrier subsidies being cut, it is likely that the pricing would be somewhat different this year. It is believed that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be available for more than $850 in the country. The iPhone 5S was launched with the same price point last year, so the iPhone 6 won’t be cheaper. Regulators in China have asked carriers to cut on-contract subsidies and China Mobile is planning to cut the subsidy by about $2 billion.
