Finally, LG releases the Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) update for its last year’s flagship, the Optimus 4x HD. However, due to the size of the update file, the installation steps can’t be performed over the air.
Instead, users need to open their PC, hook up the phone and check for the update in the LG update tool software. Not only this improves the reliability of the updating process, users can also save a huge amount of data from their plan.
It is also worth mentioning that the update is released for unlocked units and not for those that are under contract agreement. Carriers typically add their own customizations on top of the manufacturer’s official update.
The LG Optimus 4X HD can take advantage of the significant feature enhancements offered by the Jelly Bean update such as Google Now, which delivers dynamic, relevant information to users. Lags are largely eliminated as the Project Butter applies the Triple Buffering technology.
