Microsoft Releases Lumia 435

Microsoft has announced the new Lumia 435 and it will be available for only $81. The phone will be shipped to various markets, including, Africa, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe, but unfortunately not the US. Shipping affordable Lumia models should be consistent with Microsoft’s strategy of boosting International market share. Many global users are still attracted with low-end and mid-range models.

The Lumia 435 is equipped with 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor, so it won’t be able to handle heavy-duty processing tasks. Other components include 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and 1560mAh battery. The microSD card slot could accommodate up to 128GB of additional storage.

The new Lumia 435 is equipped with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, seamless Skype integration, Outlook for Email, mobile-based Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote) and the Lumia Denim Update. The front-facing camera could make quick Skype video calling connection. Users can get free OneDrive access with 30GB of cloud storage. HERE location service is available and users can access many thousands of 3rd party apps by visiting the Windows Phone store. However, the absence of LED flash reminds us that the Lumia 435 is just an entry level model.
