A little known Swedish computing devices manufacturer, the Handheld Group, announced the Nautiz X1; which could be the toughest handset in the market today. It’s shock-resistant, dust-proof, waterproof yet also smartly designed, very slim and lightweight. The firm claims that the phone is suitable for outdoor enthusiasts and common professionals alike. The Handheld Group has learned many things from creating ultra-rugged computer and it now applies the solutions to smartphone industry.
The IP67 certification means that the phone can withstand water immersion and completely protected against dust. The stringent military-grade standard (MIL-STD-810G) allows the phone to endure extreme temperature swings, drops and humidity. Weighing at a mere 6.3 ounces (180 grams), the Nautiz X1 could be the lightest ruggedized smartphone on the market today. With 1GHz dual-core processor, 4” WVGA display, 512MB of RAM, 5Mp rear-facing camera and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), most users will find the Nautiz X1 a decent device for daily uses.
