LG Optimus G2 May Have Snapdragon 800 Chip

LG Optimus G2New rumors appear recently saying that the upcoming Optimus G2 may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip. A benchmarks result of a mysterious phone codenamed LG D801 shows that it uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 800 processor.

LG hasn’t told us anything about a phone with this product number, so there’s a possibility that we are looking at an alleged Optimus G2. It is quite probable that the Optimus G2 is a more enhanced variant of the Optimus G Pro.

Paired with the Adreno 330GPU, the Snapdragon 800 will easily blow away the competition in any benchmark results, which should correlate with real-worl performance. The GLBenchmark 2.7 results show that the LG D801 has much higher score than the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5.

There’s no mention about its display size, but the Optimus G2 seems to have 1080p display and runs Jelly Bean (Android 4.2.2) OS.
